2014 Art Champion of the Year – Dr. Michael Maddox
“In October, The Pikes Peak Arts Council was pleased to present the 14th Annual PPAC Awards for Excellence in the Arts – an opportunity to honor outstanding achievements in the arts in our region. We were elated to present both The Arts Champion of the Year Award to Dr. Michael Maddox, Executive Director of the Tri–Lakes Center for the Arts, and The Artist of the Year Award to the amazingly talented Richard Pankratz for his 70th Birthday Retrospective exhibit at the TLCA. Michael’s innovative and dynamic leadership is focused on fulfilling TLCA’s mission of nurturing emerging artists and demonstrating cultural creativity. Richard, the renowned bronze and clay artist, continues to sustain a stellar career and we are lucky to have him producing his art right here in the Pikes Peak Region. PPAC congratulates Michael and Richard and thanks them for inspiring us all!” – Nora Hardin, Executive Director, PPAC
