“Endeavor to Persevere: A Visual Tribute To Cowboy Strength & Spirit”
with renowned artist Robert Quimby
Opening Reception: Friday, August 2, 6-8pm
Exhibition Dates: August 2 to August 31

Exhibit Description from Robert Quimby:
Endeavor To Persevere – “To persist in a state, enterprise, or undertaking in spite of counter influences, opposition or discouragement” – Webster’s Dictionary
Since the 1890’s people have been saying the West is dead and writing the obituary of the cowboy. The cowboy has outworn his usefulness, a vanishing breed, no longer needed and on the path to extinction. Yet over 120 years later, the cowboy is still here. Blending old traditions and modern techniques, battling new issues and facing more challenges than ever before, the cowboy is still alive and continues to defy the odds. A true survivor – a classic example of what it means to endeavor to persevere. This exhibit features drawings and paintings by Robert Quimby inspired from time spent on ranches throughout the Rocky Mountain region and God’s Country, the Sandhills of Nebraska. We invite you to experience this visual tribute to the strength and spirit of the great American Cowboy.
