Memberships

Click on the title below to select the type of membership you are interested in. To see the benefits of becoming a member read “Why become a member”.

Why become a member at TLCA?

For the discounts on selected concert and event tickets?

For the many volunteer opportunities?

Because it’s in your ‘own back yard’?

Those are all good reasons and we hear a lot of people say the same things. Thank you for your loyalty and we appreciate and need your help. Here are some other considerations.

To date (November 2, 2010), TLCA has signed-up 118 new members in 2010 for a total of $3,830 in additional membership fees. WOW…..THAT IS A RECORD.

For TLCA, a new or renewed membership says THANKS for providing us quality arts and humanities entertainment, but it goes one step further to say you want to see it continue.

It’s easy to find out what’s happening each week or month at TLCA – I have 2500 people on the e-newsletter blast. However, a membership not only keeps you connected with the events, but says our community benefits from this community art center and I want to see it continue.

The sum of $3,830 is approximately 1/2 of the total operating dollars needed to keep the doors open at TLCA per month. Seventy-two percent of TLCA’s budget comes from program income, which means we operate on very little grant and contribution support.

I will close with these words – WE NEED YOUR HELP! Please renew your membership if it has expired. Please get a membership for a family member or friend for a holiday gift. Bring someone with you to TLCA and encourage them to support the arts and entertainment in our community.

Make it a gift that keeps on giving.

Arts and humanities play a role in improving and maintaining a community’s business climate. Most businesses agree that important ‘quality of life’ factors should be considered in local decision making. According to a US Labor Department report, the arts are cited as important for foundation skills which include creative thinking, problem solving, exercising individual responsibility, sociability and self esteem, which prepares students for jobs.

Businesses committed to the arts recognize the link between our cultural vitality and success. They know that arts involvement has a positive impact on business people, culture, and performance. The effect of arts programs on a community is more than aesthetic; a vibrant arts community can increase sales and property values.

Tri-Lakes Center for the Arts was voted Non-Profit of 2010 by the Tri-Lakes Chamber of Commerce, indicating the significant role within the Tri-Lakes community and beyond.

The Collaboration of Photographers is associated with Tri-Lakes Center for the Arts. The collaboration seeks to promote photography within the arts community and provide training and education to new and experienced  photographers.

Our goal is to promote photography as an art form and to provide training and education in photography, shows, techniques, and more. We plan on promoting photography by encouraging the art center in running different national photography shows, gallery exhibits of well known photographers, member shows, and more.

Everyone is always welcome to come to meetings, attend free workshops, go on excursions with the group, and participate in other ways. To take part in collaboration shows you must be an associate of the collaboration. Membership in the collaboration is $15 annually and includes family members

We plan on an annual member show each year, host an annual Visions of Light juried show, and plan other events that may just be open to associates such as bin sales at events, swap meets, and more.

We have a companion group, the Colorado Spring Photography Group. Together we share a common calendar and certain events like Picture of the Month. Membership is free and we urge our members to join both groups. Together we have much to interest the beginning and experienced photographer.
