“Journey Around the World” – captivating artistic jewelry creations by Dr. Douglas Layton from Malibu, CA in the Lucy Owens Gallery.
Dr. Layton is a world “wanderer,” whose art centers around the rare, the vintage, antiques, & antiquities.
Dr. Layton’s exhibition runs only March 29 – 31, and he will be present all three days to discuss his art, and if necessary, make alterations to his jewelry.
Layton designs Contemporary, Southwest, Persian, and Oriental or “anything anyone can dream.”
It is the rare and ancient stones and artifacts he uses in each piece that sets him apart from other artists who hand craft their work.
He still makes frequent journeys to exotic lands to find the elements that will become the centerpiece of an Auriolus work of art.

Mango fan Django’s sound also sends a wink and a nod to jump swing hepcats of the 40′s,
the sassy Caribbean and Latin bands of the 50′s, 60′s and beyond, and contemporary musicians from today’s Gypsy jazz scene.

Acclaimed Celtic fingerstyle guitarist Jerry Barlow is a warm accessible performer and storyteller. His repertoire is a synthesis of his own Celtic inspired compositions and the traditional music of the British Isles. His music has the power to transport the listener across time and space on an imaginary journey to a rustic Irish fishing village, the misty Scottish Highlands, or an ancient English forest.

In concert, Jerry brings traditional Celtic tunes alive by sharing the history, humor and legends behind the music. The title track from his CD, BRING DOWN THE STORM, has won the prestigious Indie award for “Best Songs of 2006.” Songs from his first CD, KEEPSAKE, are played on National Public Radio and were included in a PBS documentary Song of Our Children. Songs from Bring Down the Storm are heard in the newly released documentary Learn More About Climate from Landlocked Films and the University of Colorado. Jerry has been featured in Fingerstyle Guitar magazine.

He has performed for the University of Denver’s Lamont School of Music in the Gates Auditorium, High Plains Public Radio’s Living Room Concert Series, the Performing Arts Festival at the Denver Center for Performing Arts, Swallow Hill Music Association in Denver, and the Main Stage at the
Cherry Creek Arts Festival.

Jerry regularly performs at theaters, concert halls, and libraries throughout the Midwest and Rocky Mountain Region. His expressive arrangements have been described as music to soothe the soul, warm the heart and lift the spirit.

Theme
Visions of Light (VOL) is a juried photographic exhibition that focuses on the photographer’s use of light as a fundamental approach to photography. The exhibition is sponsored and hosted by the Tri-Lakes Center for the Arts in Palmer Lake, Colorado during the month of March, 2012. Tri- Lakes Center for the Arts is voted Non-Profit of 2010 by the Tri-Lakes Chamber of Commerce. The mission of TLCA is to nurture emerging artists, demonstrate cultural creativity, and promote the fine arts and humanities.

The mission of the 2012 Visions of Light (VOL) exhibition is to challenge photographers to go beyond producing a technically correct photographic image and demonstrate their use and/or control of light to help define the subject. The light can be natural, manmade, or a combination that enhances the impact, drama, emotion, composition, and/or message of the image.

The VOL is a juried photographic exhibition sponsored and hosted by the Tri-Lakes Center for the Arts (TLCA) in Palmer Lake, Colorado.
