Theme – “From the Earth”: Fine Arts in Wood and Clay

The Tri-Lakes Center for the Arts (TLCA) is pleased to announce a Call for Artists to participate in a juried wood and clay exhibition. Artists are invited to submit their fine art in wood and/or clay for consideration. This show will be held in the Lucy Owens Gallery, unless entries exceed our expectations, then it will be moved to the Main Gallery.

Eligibility Criteria

  • This juried exhibition is open to all artists who have original art or limited editions in wood and/or clay, which are not mass produced. TLCA prefers that digital images accompany the application form, either by e-mail or CD. In some cases, photos will be accepted.
  • Wood- Wood art can include wood turnings, carvings, sculpture, furniture and any other decorative or functional items with wood as the predominant component.
  • Clay- Clay art can include stoneware/earthenware/porcelain/polymer, functional or decorative, wheel or hand-built, with clay as the predominant component.

 

Awards

  • Awards in the form of ribbons and cash will be given in the following categories:
  • Wood Art- Best of Show $100, 1st Place $50, 2nd Place $25
  • Clay Art- Best of Show $100, 1st Place $50, 2nd Place $25
  • People’s Choice Award will be a ribbon only and determined at the reception on Jan. 13th.

Registration Fees

  • Entry applications will include a fee of $35.00 for three (3) entries, with a $10.00 charge for each additional entry, up to five (5) total entries.
  • TLCA Artist Members pay $30.00 for up to (3) entries, with a $10.00 charge for each additional entry, up to five (5) total entries.
  • All fees are non-refundable.
  • Checks are to be made payable to the TLCA and mailed to PO Box 1154, Palmer Lake, CO 80133
  • Credit card information can be taken over the phone at 719-481-0475, or mailed with the registration form.
  • Pay online via PayPal at www.trilakesarts.org

 

Use Rights

  • By submitting images for jurying, artists whose submissions are chosen for the exhibition grant
  • Tri-Lakes Center for the Arts the right to use their images for the purpose of marketing the exhibition, TLCA’s programs, and subsequent display on the website and e-newsletters. Artists grant the use of their image(s) as stated without further contact or compensation from TLCA.

 

Entry Rules

  • The artist may submit a maximum of five (5) entries.
  • Entries must be finished, clean and in good condition
  • The TLCA Gallery Committee reserves the right to disqualify any entry and will decide how to display the entries.
  • Sales will be a 70/30 split, with 30% going to the TLCA
  • If an item is NOT FOR SALE, please specify on the application form. The majority of work submitted should be for sale.
  • Accepted pieces must be gallery ready for hanging or display (no saw tooth hangers).
  • Entries being mailed for exhibition must be accompanied with a prepaid, return postage sticker.
  • Your artwork will be protected and insured while in the care and custody of TLCA, but not during transit to or from the show. Because TLCA does not own your artwork, each artist is responsible for insurance coverage for theft and damage during shipping to and from the TLCA. Submission of your work constitutes agreement to abide by these rules.
  • Written authorization is required for someone else to pick up your work.
  • If no description is provided, only your name and name of the entry will appear for viewer information on the printed program.
  • In the event of a large or small number of entries in a given category, the Gallery Committee reserves the right to further subdivide or combine categories.
  • Insurance: Entrant is primarily responsible for insurance and must acknowledge such on the entry form.
